That AHA Moment Campaign to Advance Aim High
These are exciting times for Aim High Academy, but we will never forget where we were on March 25, 2015.
Aim High Academy’s (AHA) Founder and Executive Director, Jennifer Patterson heard a clear message: “Get the kids to the basement. Go now!”
Damaging wind, rain, and hail pounded much of Tulsa.
As the small group of gymnasts, parents, and staff huddled, prayed, and sang, a roaring tornado swept in and destroyed the building above them.
That day, everything that could be shaken was shaken, but even during the destruction, a miracle was taking place.
In the successful first phase of our That AHA Moment Campaign in 2016, we raised $1.25 million to purchase and move into our main campus, a turnkey gymnastics building.
The second phase of the That AHA Moment campaign kicked off in 2017, with a goal to raise $2.105 million to:
Launch our North Tulsa gym
Expand the main campus, including a new storm shelter/multi-purpose room to ensure children are safe in dangerous weather
Increase security measures
Add a new ninja gym
Renovate the main campus viewing area and lobby
Purchase new ninja equipment
Support staff and programs
Provide scholarships for low-income families
In 2019, Aim High Academy completed our challenge from the Mabee Foundation by raising $2 million dollars.
Construction began in November 2020. With the increased costs of materials, we are currently continuing our fundraising efforts to bridge the deficit between the actual cost of the project and the estimated amount obtained in 2017.
